Chris Broussard is an internationally-known NBA analyst for the ABC and ESPN television networks as well as an award-winning journalist for ESPN The Magazine and ESPN.com. Chris has shared the screen with some of the NBA’s legendary figures, including Magic Johnson, with whom he co-starred on the ”KIA NBA Countdown Show” during the 2011-2012 season. He can be seen on a near-daily basis on ESPN’s “SportsCenter,’’ “Outside the Lines ” and “First Take.’’ Chris’ achievements led to his being named one of the 100 Black History Makers of 2012 by Thegrio.com, the African-American news arm of NBC.

Chris, who worked at The New York Times from 1998-2004, is a 1990 graduate of Oberlin College, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English. In addition to his work as a journalist, he is a published author. His first book, “Not Without Scars: The Inspiring Life Journey of Mark C. Olds’’ was published in 2000. Chris is the Founder and President of a National Christian Men's Movement called K.I.N.G., which stands for Knowledge, Inspiration and Nuture through God. Along with gospel recording artist Fred Hammond, Chris is a National Chair and Spokesperson for the “Ties Never Broken’’ campaign, which is sponsored by Fathers Incorporated. He is also a spokesperson for Allan Houston’s “Father Knows Best” program and a Board member of Write-On Sports, a sports journalism program for minority teenagers. Chris is a frequent speaker at churches, colleges, high schools, charitable fundraisers and youth-related events. One of his oratorical gifts is his versatility, as he has addressed congregations as varied as Baptist, Methodist, Pentecostal, Charismatic, Catholic and Congregational. He has also taught seminars on the Biblical heritage of African people.

For Chris’s work with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Flint (Mich.), Mayor Dayne Walling issued a public proclamation declaring September 17, 2010 “Chris Broussard Day.’’ In 1997, Cleveland, Ohio’s Bright Star Baptist Church honored him as an African-American Man of Achievement. An avid reader of African-American and African history, Chris, born in 1968, is also a member of the hip-hop generation. His knowledge of Black history, his experiences growing up in multicultural environments and his enthusiasm and respect for hip-hop culture gives him a unique ability to connect with listeners of all ages and races. Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Broussard now lives with his wife and their twin daughters in New Jersey.
