Bill Butterworth’s wit, warmth and realism bring love, laughter and hope to audiences all over North America. Over a million people know Bill as a regular contributor to publications and columns for Home Life, Moody Monthly and Focus on the Family’s Single Parent Family magazines. He was on the faculty of Florida Bible College for eight years and was Director of Counseling Ministries at Insight for Living, the radio ministry of Chuck Swindoll, for six years.
Bill holds a Bachelors degree from Florida Bible College and Masters’ degrees from both Dallas Theological Seminary and Florida Atlantic University. Bill now maintains a heavy speaking schedule made up of conventions, banquets, conferences, retreats, businesses, churches and school-sponsored lectures. Not only has he been warmly received at such great churches as Willow Creek Community Church and Saddleback Community Church, he has also addressed such corporate clients as Disney, Daimler-Chrysler, American Express, Ford Motor Company and the National Football League. Bill has also written close to two dozen books, including his most recent releases, Balancing Work and Life and Building Successful Teams. He also authored New Life After Divorce, The Promise of the Second Wind, Butterworth Gets His Life Together…But It Falls Apart Before He Can Show His Friends and When Life Doesn’t Turn Out Like You Planned.
Bill received the Hal Holbrook Award presented by the International Platform Association, and is one of the select few to be named "Top-Rated Speaker of the Year". He was subsequently appointed to the Board of Governors of the IPA. He founded the Butterworth Communicators Institute, offering coaching and workshops to maximize the speaker’s gifts and effectiveness.
